My aim is to help you achieve your optimum wellness potential through providing holistic and effective naturopathic care.

What can I expect in a naturopathy consult?

All consultations are now held virtually — so you can access expert naturopathic care from the comfort of your own home, anywhere in Australia. Whether we connect via secure video or phone, the experience is personal, thorough, and completely tailored to you.

Your initial consultation is where we connect the dots. We’ll explore your full health story — how your body systems are working, your personal and family history, symptoms, diet, lifestyle, stress, and anything else that could be influencing your wellbeing.

Unlike a quick medical appointment, naturopathic consults allow time to look at the whole picture. My goal is to uncover the why behind your symptoms so we can create a personalised plan that makes sense for your body (and your lifestyle).

We’ll assess your nutritional status, energy, and any underlying factors affecting your health. If we need deeper insights, I may recommend functional testing — such as hormone, thyroid, gut, or nutrient panels — to give us clear data to work from.

You’ll leave your first session with clarity and a practical, step-by-step plan that may include nutrition, lifestyle, and natural medicine support.

Follow-up sessions are where we review your progress, adjust your plan, and build momentum toward your goals — one achievable step at a time.

Because lasting change happens when we understand your body, work with it — not against it — and make it doable from wherever you are.

What is Nutritional Medicine?

Nutritional Medicine takes a holistic, individualised look at how food influences your health, hormones, energy, and vitality. It’s not about strict diets or cutting everything out — it’s about understanding what your body actually needs to function at its best.

The reality is, most modern diets are overloaded with processed foods and missing the nutrients that keep us feeling energised, balanced, and well. By making small, strategic changes over time, we can transform how your body performs, how your hormones behave, and how you feel day-to-day.

As part of your naturopathic care, nutritional therapy may include:

  • Personalised meal plans and recipes that suit your lifestyle and goals

  • High-quality practitioner-only supplements to correct deficiencies and support healing

  • Targeted dietary strategies such as elimination, low-FODMAP, anti-candida, or GF/DF plans

  • Identifying and removing individual food triggers that may be driving inflammation or symptoms

  • Functional pathology testing to assess nutrient status, metabolism, and overall health markers

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s progress. Step by step, we’ll build a way of eating that nourishes, supports, and sustains you long-term.

what is Herbal Medicine?

Herbal Medicine is the therapeutic use of plant extracts to support the body’s natural ability to heal and restore balance. Each herb has unique properties that can target specific body systems — from calming the nervous system and supporting hormonal balance, to improving digestion and boosting energy.

In my clinic, I use only high-quality, practitioner-only herbal medicines to ensure safety, purity, and effectiveness. These may be prescribed as personalised liquid tonics, capsules, or tablets depending on your needs.

Because herbs can influence how certain medications work, it’s important to always check with a qualified practitioner (that’s me!) before starting any new natural medicine.

Herbal formulas are tailored uniquely for you — blending science, tradition, and a touch of plant magic to get results that last.

What is Lifestyle advice?

True wellness isn’t just about what you take — it’s how you live. Lifestyle plays a huge role in hormone balance, gut health, sleep, stress, and overall vitality. That’s why it’s a key part of every treatment plan.

During your consultations, we’ll look at the habits that shape your health — and find simple, sustainable ways to upgrade them without the overwhelm.

Areas we may focus on include:

  • Diet and nutrition guidance that fits your lifestyle

  • Movement and exercise recommendations to support strength, energy, and balance

  • Stress management strategies that actually work in real life

  • Support for breaking habits such as smoking or excessive caffeine/alcohol use

Small lifestyle shifts can have a huge impact — and when done consistently, they become the foundation for lasting wellbeing.

what TESTING can you do?

Sometimes your body needs a little detective work — and that’s where functional testing comes in. These tests help uncover what’s really going on beneath the surface by assessing your biochemical, nutritional, metabolic, and hormonal status.

Functional pathology testing gives us the data we need to identify imbalances early, personalise your treatment, and track your progress over time. It’s one of the best tools we have for getting clarity — and making sure your plan is targeted, not guesswork.

At Jody Walker Naturopathy, I partner with trusted Australian labs including NutriPATH, RN Labs, and QML to provide accurate, practitioner-only testing.

Commonly recommended tests include:

  • DUTCH Test – for detailed hormone and adrenal analysis

  • OAT (Organic Acids Test) – for energy, detox, neurotransmitter, and nutrient metabolism

  • Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis (CDSA) – for gut microbiome and digestive function

  • Genetic Testing – exploring single SNPs or broader wellness profiles

  • MetaBiome / Microbiome Mapping – for detailed gut ecology and diversity

  • Vaginal Microbiome Testing - to assist with chronic vaginal infections and fertility.

Testing helps us move from guessing to knowing — giving you a clear, evidence-based path forward.
